Dr. Stephen Knight is a highly respected, board-certified comprehensive ophthalmologist, with vast experience in all aspects of medical eye care. After being in a busy solo practice for over 30 years, he has recently joined Georgia Eye Partners. His interests are all aspects of general medical eye care, especially glaucoma, dry eye disease, and general diagnostic issues.
Dr. Knight graduated cum laude from Georgia Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering. After graduation, he was a project engineer for one of the largest engineering firms in the world. Later he went on to earn his medical degree from the University of Nebraska, followed by a medical internship at Northwestern University. He completed his ophthalmology residency at Emory University.
Dr. Knight is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology. He was the co-author of a paper published in Ophthalmology, one of the major ophthalmology journals in the world. For over 25 years he served on the teaching faculty at Emory University, attaining the position of Adjunct Associate Clinical Professor. In this capacity, he helped teach the next generation of ophthalmologists some of the finer aspects of cataract surgery, both at the Atlanta Veterans Administration Medical Center and Grady Memorial Hospital. For many years he has volunteered his time and expertise to EyeCare America, providing free eye care to disadvantaged seniors.
He enjoys golf, classical guitar, and travel. He is active in his church, currently serving on the Board of Trustees.
